Bring your person: Companion Cards and carer entry

If you need support to get out, your companion shouldn't have to pay twice. How carer entry works.

Two friends arriving together at a museum, one using a wheelchair

Many people need a companion with them to go out. Companion Card programs in each Australian state and territory let eligible people bring a companion without paying for a second ticket at participating venues.

How it usually works

You apply through your state or territory program. Once approved, you show your card when buying a ticket, and your companion's ticket is free at participating places. Online booking can work differently, so check the venue's booking page or call them.

Not every venue takes part

Participation is voluntary. On Can We Go, look for “Companion Card” or “Carer / companion entry” in a place's access information, and check its source and last-checked date.

Add it to your profile

Choose Companion Card in your private Access Profile and we'll show you where that information is confirmed, reported or still unknown.

Information may change. Check with the venue if a feature is essential to your visit.
